Challenging our employees to develop beyond even their own expectations, we provide regular performance reviews, helping to inform and construct development plans whilst providing the agility and flexibility needed to respond to changing needs.
Although we offer structured and targeted learning and development pathways for career progression at whatever level - apprentice/graduate or experienced hire - we encourage our people to take personal responsibility for driving their careers in a direction that is meaningful to them.
Whether that be technical qualification for apprentices and trainees, studying for professional qualifications or achieving Chartered status with relevant professional bodies.
Partnering for potential
We do whatever we can to support our colleagues that wish to study for professional qualifications at any stage in their careers. We are Corporate Partners of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the British Computer Society (BCS), agreements that are intended to help strengthen our professional development activities and enable our team to reach their potential. Our people have really benefited from this partnership with 15.9% of our engineers registered with the IET, and seven colleagues having already achieved Chartered Engineer status.
We also have established academic relationships with a number of local colleges and universities including Staffordshire University, Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) and JCB Academy.
And, as well as targeted and tailored pathways, we have established learning and development options that go beyond the ‘training room’ including peer to peer learning, mentoring schemes and leadership forums.
