Raising awareness of engineering careers at local schools
Capula, an Imtech company, has recently been supporting careers fairs and events in 4 local schools and colleges, all within a 10 mile radius of our Head Office in Staffordshire.
During National Apprenticeship Week 2017, we attended the Next Steps event at Newcastle under Lyme College who recently named Capula as a top employer in the area. We have strong links with the college as we currently have 11 apprentices attending engineering related courses to supplement the practical on-the-job training they receive at Capula.
Capula recognises the importance of attracting young talent to the industry, having recruited over 60 graduate engineers to the business since 2010. We encourage employees to support educational programmes in the community to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) subjects to future engineers.
“We aim to help inspire young people to consider a future career in engineering” said Steve Tellwright, Capula’s HR Director. “It’s important for us to continue to support educational organisations in our local area and we already have plans to attend many more careers events and graduate fairs this year”.
