Capula and COPA-DATA co-exhibit at Powering Net Zero Week 2023
Capula, a leading systems integrator for critical infrastructure and energy, and COPA-DATA, the developer of energy automation technology, zenon, will co-exhibit at Powering Net Zero 2023. Held from 14 to 17 November at Glasgow’s Crowne Plaza, the event marks the first joint exhibit between both companies since Capula was named as the first UK Gold Partner for COPA-DATA earlier this year.
Powering Net Zero is a flagship event organised by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). The event encompasses three co-located conferences: Energy Storage, EVI: Charging Ahead and RPG and Future Power Systems and will each serve as a platform to discuss solutions to deliver net zero by 2030.
Exhibiting as Capula powered by COPA-DATA, both organisations will highlight their combined efforts to drive digitalisation and automation for the UK energy industry. Capula has a long history of collaborating with COPA-DATA to provide digital technologies to some of the UK’s most complex and critical infrastructure. Selected examples of these projects will be shown at the joint stand.
COPA-DATA's Technical Manager will be at hand throughout the event to provide live demonstrations of the zenon software platform. Demos include the technology’s applications for the energy industry, including renewable generation infrastructure, digital substations and more. Crucially for the green transition, the team will provide examples of how zenon can be used as a control and monitoring solution for battery energy storage systems (BESS).
“Our co-exhibit at Powering Net Zero provides a platform to demonstrate the technology that powers Capula’s critical infrastructure projects,” explained Garry Forfar, Energy Sales Director at COPA-DATA UK. “It's also our first show together since Capula was promoted to Gold Partner status in the COPA-DATA Partner Community (CDPC). Just twelve other partners hold this status globally and we’re proud to share this with an organisation supporting the transition to net zero.”
As part of the event’s speaker programme, Simon Coombs, Managing Director of Capula, will also deliver a presentation to attendees on Thursday 16 November at 10.50am. As an industry expert with over 35 years of experience working in digital transformation for the energy industry, Coombs will examine the technological needs for Britain’s net zero goals.
Entitled Using real-time data to enable complexity and responsiveness of future power systems, Coombs’ presentation will explain the practicalities of OT/IT convergence and explain the Secure by Design methodology of building secure and resilient data systems that consider people, processes and technology.
“At the core of Capula and COPA-DATA's collaboration lies the shared vision of creating a more sustainable, secure and efficient energy landscape," explained Coombs. "With our joint expertise and capabilities, we aim to change the way the UK’s energy industry approaches digitalisation and automation, ultimately contributing to achieving net-zero."
