Capula apprentice wins InstMC Apprentice of the Year Award

We are delighted to announce that Brandan Baddeley has been awarded Apprentice of the Year 2026 by the Institute of Measurement and Control Central North-West Section.

Currently completing an Embedded Electronic Systems Design and Development Engineer Apprenticeship at the University of Staffordshire, Brandan received the award in recognition of his outstanding commitment to professional development, his contribution to engineering projects and his support for fellow apprentices and aspiring engineers.

Throughout his apprenticeship, Brandan has consistently gone above and beyond to broaden his experience and develop his technical capabilities. Alongside completing a range of specialist engineering training, he has volunteered for additional project work, supported panel-building and testing activities, and shared his knowledge with other apprentices to help them develop their skills.

Beyond his project work, Brandan is a passionate advocate for engineering careers, regularly supporting school, college and university engagement activities. Having discovered his own apprenticeship through similar outreach initiatives, he is committed to encouraging the next generation of engineers to consider careers in the industry.

Brandan’s mentor, Nick Moreira-White, Senior Hardware Engineer said:

“Brandan is dependable, motivated and a credit to the apprenticeship programme at Capula. His passion for engineering, willingness to learn and determination to broaden his experience really set him apart.”

This award is a fantastic recognition of Brandan's dedication, professionalism and contribution to both Capula and the wider engineering community.

Congratulations, Brandan, on this well-deserved achievement.
