Capula joining TrendMiner and presenting with Yorkshire Water at OSIsoft 2017
Capula is being represented by Operational Intelligence Business Manager, Alastair Norman at the forthcoming OSIsoft User Conference in London, where he will be supporting technology partners TrendMiner on their stand as well as presenting at one of the event’s speaker sessions.
The OSIsoft User Conference will take place on 16th – 19th October in London and is the premiere event to learn more about the PI system, network with peers and experts and discover future developments. Attended by over 1,300 specialists from over 50 different countries, delegates will have access to a wide range of presentations from industry experts, discussions, product demonstrations and hands-on training opportunities.
Capula, an Imtech company, is a value-added reseller partner of TrendMiner, the self-service industrial analytics provider. As a TrendMiner partner, Capula can offer its customers the advanced analytics needed to support their journey to digital transformation, and delivers support and expertise for TrendMiner users in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
As well as supporting TrendMiner on their stand, Alastair will be delivering a joint presentation with Andrew Sewell from Yorkshire Water that will explain how data analytics benefit Yorkshire Water by allowing them to predict water leakages across their network before they impact customers. The project allows data captured from remote components located across Yorkshire to automatically monitor anomalies, such as sudden unusual drops in pressure or increases in flow at meters, all of which could indicate a leakage situation. Such events promptly alert users at Yorkshire Water, enabling them to investigate any possible leakage situations arising on their network before having a detrimental effect on the water supply, as well as any associated environmental consequences.
“I’m pleased to be able to share the stage with Andrew,” Alastair commented. “I’m looking forward to explaining how the PI system that Capula has implemented helps Yorkshire Water proactively deal with potential leakage situations on the ground, resulting in business efficiencies and improved customer satisfaction levels. These benefits are very important to utilities companies because of the more stringent financial targets now being imposed by OFWAT.”

About TrendMiner
TrendMiner delivers self-service data analytics to optimize process performance in industries such as chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, metals & mining and process manufacturing. TrendMiner software is based on a high-performance analytics engine for data captured in time series that allows users to question the data directly without help from a data scientist. The plug and play software adds value immediately after deployment, eliminating the need for infrastructure investment and long implementation projects. Search, diagnostic and predictive capabilities enable users to speed up root cause analysis, define optimal processes and set fingerprints to monitor production. These can be used to send out automated early warnings to control room staff in case of deviation. TrendMiner software also helps team members to capture feedback and leverage knowledge across sites.
