Capula scoops Training Excellence Award
Capula beat off strong competition last week at the 2018 Sentinel Business Awards, and was announced winner of the Training Excellence Award.
The ceremony which took place at the King’s Hall in Stoke-on-Trent, recognised Staffordshire and South Cheshire’s finest enterprising businesses across all industries, and rewarded excellence from among the region’s workforce.
Capula won the Training Excellence Award for its commitment to the training and personal development of staff from junior apprentices right through to senior engineers. The business took the decision to create and train its own engineering workforce because it was becoming increasingly difficult to recruit engineers with the right skills due to a national engineering skills shortage.
‘I’m delighted that we’ve scooped this award’, said Mark Hardy, Managing Director at Capula. ‘It’s evidence of our hard work in meeting the resource demands of the business. As a direct result of our training strategy, we are developing a pipeline of talented young people that can benefit from bright and promising careers at Capula.’
Steve Tellwright, HR Director at Capula said, ‘I’m incredibly proud of Capula’s training ethos; our culture is all about nurturing junior engineers and helping our staff to develop to help address the resource challenges affecting engineering businesses in the UK. Also, by encouraging our junior engineers to regularly engage with local schools we’re proud to help produce a sustainable local talent pool of future apprentices, which the wider business community can benefit from for years to come.’
