About Jim Allen
Jim has over 25 years’ experience in the utility and energy networks sector in the UK, having held senior roles in asset management, operations, strategy development and business transformation at E.ON UK and Severn Trent Water. His career began as a design engineer in the water industry, gaining experience in electricity network operations and strategy execution with E.ON before working for renewable energy and digital technologies consultancies prior to joining Capula in 2020.
Jim is a passionate advocate for decentralised energy and for a new market structure which inspires investor confidence in the reliability of renewable power generation and in digitalisation to deliver the efficient system-wide orchestration of distributed energy resources and low carbon technologies. He possesses a deep understanding of the future energy domain and in the complexities of systems integration in OT environments, which he believes will be the key to unlocking the enormous value in digital and data solutions required in building a more dynamic and responsive, net zero carbon energy system.
In January 2020, Jim was appointed Strategy Manager – Future Energy Systems at Capula, an EDF Group company.
