Supporting the local community – round-up
Capula is pleased to contribute to a range of group initiatives, many of which support youth organisations or promote health and wellbeing in the local community.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of Capula’s sponsorship of the Stone Town Bonfire held annually in Stone, Staffordshire where Capula’s Head Office has been based for over 45 years. Attended by hundreds of locals, the Stone Town Bonfire helps fund local associations including the local Guides, Cadets, Brownies, a school Parents Teacher Association and the local Scouts group. This year’s bonfire will take place on Saturday 4th November at Westbridge Park in Stone, and the whole community is encouraged to attend.
“We are pleased to have the support of Capula,” commented Rod Wood, Bonfire Committee organiser. “Last year we were able to distribute £12500 to the groups involved and we’re hoping to exceed that figure this year.”
Other local groups that Capula has supported in the last few months include:
- Doveridge Dynamos Football club, based in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire – Capula help fund the kit for the U14s players
- St Leonards Rugby club in Stafford – sponsorship helped fund the pre-match warm-up tops for the players
- Stone Lions Club – Capula supported the recent prostate cancer screening blood tests held at a local venue which was free for local men to attend
- The Round Table’s Beer Festival in Cockermouth, Cumbria- funds raised will support a pensioner activity day, renovate local school playgrounds as well as fund local sporting activities
“We’re pleased to support this diverse mix of local charity events and initiatives that either encourage young people to flourish and reach their full potential or promote health and wellbeing,” commented Mark Hardy, Managing Director at Capula.
