Capula employees shortlisted for prestigious Nuclear Awards
Two employees from Staffordshire based Capula have been shortlisted for individual awards by the National Skills Academy Nuclear (NSAN).
Jack Senior and Sally Parker have been downselected for Nuclear Graduate of the Year and Nuclear Higher/Degree Apprentice of the Year respectively. The awards recognise the achievements of exceptional individuals who have chosen careers within the nuclear sector.

Jack Senior, shortlisted for Nuclear Graduate of the Year, joined Capula in 2016 and now works as a Hardware Engineer within Capula’s highly regarded Nuclear team. He is currently occupying a senior role within the design team, delivering on a number of high-profile projects for the next generation of Nuclear Power plants at Hinkley Point C (HPC)”.
Mark Hanstock, Course Leader: Engineering Apprenticeships, Staffordshire University, said: “Jack’s hard work and commitment throughout his apprenticeship has culminated in him achieving an excellent final degree classification, and further flourish into a very competent and resourceful engineer.
He added: “I have enjoyed working with Jack, he has always behaved professionally and displayed a positive ‘can-do’ attitude to both his work and academic studies. I am certain that this is just the beginning of a very productive and successful career, and wish him all the best with his nomination.”
Shortlisted in the Nuclear Higher/Degree Apprentice category, Sally Parker joined Capula in 2017 as a Junior IT Engineer, undertaking a Digital and Technology Solutions Degree at Staffordshire University. Sally has recently joined a new team within the Nuclear business, working on a number of high-profile projects using multiple technologies, to deliver early lifecycle design and project management support.
Alongside her studies Sally is also a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) ambassador committed to educating and inspiring young people to progress with STEM subjects and the career pathways available.
Robin Oldham, Course Director: Computer Science and Digital Apprenticeships, Staffordshire University, said: “Sally’s ability to apply her knowledge in the workplace is also matched by her academic development, and she presents the qualities of an excellent student that is capable of delivering significant value to any business – a model apprentice.”
He added: “Sally has been a pleasure to work with throughout her time with us. She has applied herself brilliantly and through hard work and dedication in the core content as well as the specialist Cyber Security modules maintained a consistent ‘first-class’ profile. She is one of our best Tech Industry Gold Accredited Digital and Technology Solutions Degree apprentices.”
Lee Heathcote, Capula’s Nuclear Business Unit Manager said: “I want to wish both Jack and Sally the best of luck with their nominations, they are a pleasure to work with and ideal candidates to represent the important role apprenticeships play in building the next generation of talent for our industries.”

The 13th Annual National Skills Academy Nuclear (NSAN) Awards, will take place on the 25th March.
