Capula Strengthens Commitment to Energy Transition with Strategic Expansion in Scotland to Power the Future of Energy Infrastructure
Capula, a leading systems integrator in industrial automation and digital solutions for Critical National Infrastructure, is proud to announce the launch of its dedicated presence in Scotland. Operating from the offices of its sister company Dalkia Scotland, this strategic expansion strengthens Capula’s ability to serve the Scottish energy market and underscores its long-term commitment to supporting the UK’s energy transition.
Capula’s new base in Glasgow marks a pivotal step in the company’s growth strategy. This expansion enables Capula to deliver faster, more responsive support to its Scottish clients while fostering deeper collaboration on complex, mission-critical infrastructure projects that are vital to the country’s energy future.
Simon Coombs, Capula’s Managing Director said: “Establishing a dedicated presence in Scotland is a proud moment for Capula and a natural progression in our growth journey. This expansion not only brings us closer to our clients but also strengthens our ability to support the nation’s critical national infrastructure and energy transition.
We’re excited to collaborate more closely with our partners in Scotland as well as being co-located with our Dalkia Scotland colleagues. Together we can continue to play a key role in building a more sustainable future.”
Commenting on the co-location, Jim Skivington, Managing Director, Dalkia Scotland said: ‘We are delighted to welcome our colleagues from Capula to Scotland and our offices in Glasgow.
This move will allow us to support Capula’s unique offering and, in so doing, bring our people closer together and create opportunities for collaboration. Capula is a business built on technical excellence and high levels of delivery for their many and varied clients – the move to the Scottish market will only enhance their well-deserved reputation further.’
This expansion follows Capula’s recent investment in upgraded facilities across its sites in Staffordshire, Cumbria, Berkshire, and Yorkshire. These enhancements are part of a wider strategy to work ever more closely with our clients across the UK, ensuring Capula remains at the forefront of delivering pioneering, robust solutions for the UK’s evolving energy landscape.
Capula’s new Scottish base will serve as a hub for innovation, driving the development and deployment of control, safety & protection solutions and digital asset management technologies that enhance safety, operational efficiency, resilience, and sustainability across the power generation and energy networks sectors. This initiative aligns with Capula’s mission to empower clients as they navigate the complex challenges of decarbonisation, decentralisation, and digitalisation – key pillars of the UK’s energy transition.
Commenting on the expansion, Alex Staines, Energy Business Unit Director, said: “Our new presence in Glasgow is more than a geographic enlargement — it’s a strategic investment in our capability.
By embedding ourselves within Scotland’s energy ecosystem, we’re better positioned to anticipate and respond to the specific needs of our clients, delivering tailored digital automation and control systems that are essential to enabling a smarter, cleaner energy future for Scotland and the UK.”
As the UK accelerates its energy transition, Capula’s expanded presence will be instrumental in delivering the digital automation backbone required to integrate renewables, modernise the grid, and enable the low-carbon energy systems of the future.
