Capula Apprentices celebrated at graduation ceremonies
After a challenging 18 months, a number of Capula apprentices were finally able to attend their graduation ceremonies to celebrate their achievements.
Amongst the graduate class of 2020 were Josh Luckman, Nick Moreira-White, Jack Senior, Adrian Smith and James Halliwell. Sally Parker also attended her graduation ceremony as part of the class of 2021.
Josh Luckman, Nuclear Engineer, graduated as one of Capula's 24 apprentices, gaining his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Staffordshire University.
Steve Tellwright, Capula’s HR Director was able to celebrate with Josh at one of the first graduation ceremonies at The Kings Hall in Stoke-on-Trent. Steve said: “It was an honour to support Josh on his Graduation Day. Our young engineers have such a positive impact on our business and I am thrilled to celebrate with them as they move on to the next stage of their career”.
Amongst the other celebrations, Nick Moreira-White received a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Sheffield Hallam University. Nick joined Capula in his final year of studies having previously worked in a maintenance role.
Commenting on his apprenticeship experience Nick said:
“Capula provided me with invaluable support throughout my degree helping me to realise my potential by supporting me through my final year. It means even more to me as the degree I completed was not one of the traditional courses that Capula has on its programme.
“The support I received extends right through the business, from more experienced engineers, the HR team and right through to the Directors; this isn’t something every business offers, but it’s the kind of support that allows for every possible chance of success.”
Sally Parker, Junior Engineer at Capula graduated with a 1st Class Honours Degree in Digital and Technology Solutions at Staffordshire University. Sally has excelled during her studies, and received a commendation from the Chancellor of Staffordshire University during the opening speech for achieving the highest grade in her year.
Earlier in March, Sally was also named as ‘Higher & Degree Apprentice of the Year’ at the National Skills Academy for Nuclear (NSAN) awards. Speaking on her achievements, Sally said:
“I’m truly overwhelmed by the support and recognition I have received from both Staffordshire University and Capula. I’d like to thank Capula for supporting me through my personal and professional development.
It’s a great feeling to be acknowledged for all my achievements and I can’t wait to see what the future holds as I continue my next chapter”.
