Capula invests in future talent with new apprentice intake – Class of 2025

Capula, a leading systems integrator in industrial automation and digital solutions, has officially welcomed its latest intake of apprentices as part of the Class of 2025 – reinforcing its commitment to investing in skills and nurturing future talent across the Staffordshire and West Midlands region.

This year, 19 new recruits join the business alongside 8 existing employees who are beginning or furthering their apprenticeship and higher education journey. The group will be studying a range of engineering and business disciplines at academic institutions across Staffordshire and Birmingham, with the majority undertaking programmes locally as a deliberate move to strengthen regional partnerships and support the local skills economy.

Beginning their academic journey at The University of Staffordshire, Noel Bipin, Harry Wright, Harrison Mason-Smith, Saxon Wheeldon, Joshua Collins, Oscar Smith, Jack Edwards-Bryan, Jake Gibson and James Fox start their Level 6 Embedded Electronic Systems Design & Development Engineer Apprenticeship.

Also undertaking Level 6 studies are Eleanor Langrick and Daniel Smith studying Project Management at Aston University, while Frasier Edwards and Sam Smart embark on a Chartered Surveyor Apprenticeship at Birmingham City University.

Joining the Digital & Technology Solutions Apprenticeship at The University of Staffordshire are Sam Dalgleish and William King. At Newcastle College, Ruby Cork, Jack Armstrong, Jack Dyer, and Edward Ellis begin their Level 3 Engineering Fitter Apprenticeship – further strengthening Capula’s ties with local education providers.

In addition, existing employees Nathan Ibbs, Bradley Phillips, Thomas Screen, Kian Rushton, Craig Ostrouchow and Ryan Burgess are furthering their apprenticeship journey by moving onto high level programmes, while Richard Latham and Leanne Barrow are being supported in undertaking postgraduate-level degrees – a reflection of Capula’s ongoing commitment to lifelong learning and internal development.

Commenting on the latest intake, Maria Carroll, Learning and Development Manager said: “I’m delighted to welcome such fantastic talent into our organisation. The response to our apprenticeship programme this year has been truly overwhelming, with over 900 applications received – a clear sign of the growing interest in careers at Capula and the strength of our reputation in Staffordshire and beyond.
It’s incredibly rewarding to see so many passionate individuals taking their first steps into the industry, and I’m excited to support them throughout their learning journeys. Their energy and potential will no doubt make a valuable contribution to our future.”

To mark the start of their journey, Capula recently hosted a welcome event for the new apprentices, giving them the opportunity to meet senior leaders, connect with peers, and settle into their new roles. The newly created Young Professionals Network, run by current apprentices, will also support them with their apprenticeship journey.

This latest cohort reflects Capula’s long-term investment in developing local talent and building a resilient, future-ready workforce in Staffordshire – ensuring the region remains at the forefront of innovation and engineering excellence.
