Capula teams take part in the Severn Trent Water Mountain Challenge
A sizeable group of Capula colleagues took part in the Severn Trent Water Mountain Challenge this weekend, for the third year running, raising more than £740 for charity in the process. Three Capula teams, formed from a total of 15 individuals entered the 10, 20 and 30 mile routes in the Peak District, Derbyshire, while raising money for WaterAid through sponsorship and donations.
Teams set off from the Hope Valley area and enjoyed spectacular views and exhilarating inclines across Dark Peak despite torrential rain and howling wind before descending through Edale and back to Hope Valley for refreshments and a prize giving ceremony.
The money raised from the Severn Trent Water challenge will fund WaterAid’s life saving work in Ethiopia, Africa's fourth largest and the second most populous country in the world, where there exists a real need for improved access to water and sanitation. The charity has helped over 23 million people gain access to safe water, improved hygiene and sanitation since its conception in 1981.
